Airtel 2GB for N200 and 6GB for N500 were newly introduced and on setting my eyes on these plans, my heart skipped a beat. Sadly, they are not what you think they are, these plans are not the normal Airtel plans for crazy high-end downloading. People who spend such huge time browsing and folks who uses extremely large amount of data do not need to opt in for this plan, rather, they can check out this plan.
In essence, what am insinuating is, this Airtel plan was basically launched to help the low-income earners stay connected. It’s cheap but with a restriction of the epic 2G/EDGE network that were once rampant. The download speed of this particular plan was throttled to give you a speed of about 45-60Kb/s, this simply means, downloading is crap on this plan.
Let’s look at it from this angle, an extremely slow plan but with a cheap and large data size seems like a win-win for both parties. Browse 2GB for N200 at a speed of 45 to 60 kilobyte per second. What I feel; if you cannot afford the seemingly fast internet plan for high amount, then get an obviously slow plan for cheaper price.
